The ZEUS history

I am not going to lie to you … ZEUS is not a big company. Very small in fact. With three employees. That’s it. But we can do a lot of work between the three of us, and we have an extensive net of external recourses at our disposal if needed.

The idea of ZEUS began quite a few years ago. Me, Árni Gunnar Ragnarsson, and Logi Jes Kristjánsson worked the second largest news website in Iceland when it went bankrupt in may 2002, like quite a few others like him during that time. The employment opportunities were few and far between in those days, and we started to take on freelance work. We thought of the name ZEUS and Logi designed a logo and we created a website and set out to find some business.

We quickly found out that we could not support our families working only for ZEUS, so Logi became a policeman, and I started working for an Icelandic CMS company later that year.

I always kept ZEUS alive, and early 2006, while working for my last employer I started to blog on this website and changed the name slightly to ZEUS web works. And now, when I have taken the step of working full time for my own company, it feels like a long, long dream come true.
